MUSIC
There is a very active Music program at Good Shepherd Catholic Primary School.

All of the students from Kindergarten through to Year 6 attend class music lessons which are taught by a music specialist. The teaching program is a sequential system based on the Hungarian Kodaly method of music education.

To complement the class teaching program, all students in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 sing in the school choirs.
Students at Good Shepherd also have the opportunity to play in the school band. Students in the Band can be as young as Year 3. They are invited to join the Band once they are playing the required standard on their instrument.

Good Shepherd School is part of the Primary Instrumental Program that is coordinated by Lumen Christi College. Each week tutors who specialise on an instrument visit our school. This is a popular extra-curricular choice with approximately 80 students taking up this option. Students have the opportunity to have a twenty minute individual lesson on an instrument of their choice. The instruments available are; flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, piano, violin and drums. Instruments can be hired through Lumen Christi College.

Each year students from our school participate in the Catholic Schools Performing Arts Festival. Every student from Year 1 through to Year 6 performs at the Festival.
